The registration is open for the NF Academy’s teams for the Riga Cup and the Iber Cup Cascais in the winter and spring of 2019.
A new year is being planned, and the activity of the NF Academy will be great in 2019. There will be both training camps in Norway and Portugal as well as major international tournaments in several places in Europe. For these tournaments, the NF Academy picks out the players based on incoming applications and previous achievements in the programs.
Riga Cup
First we start with Riga Cup on the last three weeks of January. Here NF Academy sends talent teams in both the U13, U14 and U15 class. The goal is to give young Nordic football talent the opportunity to match against tough international opponents in a period of the year where there is no domestic series game on the program. Opponents include Manchester City, PSV, Zenit and Crystal Palace. The player squad is initially taken from the Team Training programs in Oslo and in Western Norway, but there are also opportunities to apply for space in this program.
Ibercup Cascais
In the spring, Lisbon Ibercup Cascais is played on the 15 – 19 April. There, NF Academy will place several talent teams, and it is possible to apply for admission to tournament participation. In the 2018 tournament, several of the NF Academy teams played against strong European teams. The 2005 team lost the final in the b-finals, while both 2006 and the 2007 team impressed to play their way to the quarter finals in the A-playoffs. Here, Nordic talented young players have the opportunity to match international opponents at a high level. In addition, there are high quality trainings led by Portuguese coaches.
Exciting New Year
In winter holidays 8 and 9 there is also a new Elite training camp in cooperation with Sporting Lisboa.
There will also be training camps in Norway through NF Team Training and NF Weekend Training. Here, the participants receive quality training led by Portuguese coaches with past in the academies of Benfica and Sporting Lisbon.
